  7. Withdraw, pull jo back, but keep in front of body

Start with jo on ground

  1. Choku tsuki (irimi, offline to left to evade thrust)
  2. Hayashi gaeshi (like jodan gaeshi yokomen uchi with less block)
  3. Defensive parry to right
  4. Tsuki
  5. Hasso gaeshi defense
  6. Menuchi (moving to right to avoid his thrust)
